Organized by ICorPurS®. Hosted by Universidade Europeia.
Corporate purpose has moved to the center of debates on how organizations create value, for whom, and over what time horizon. Boards, executives, investors, and policymakers refer to purpose with growing frequency, yet the concept is often used loosely and its effects remain contested. Building a cumulative and rigorous body of knowledge is essential for scholarship and practice alike.
The Corporate Purpose International Conference is the flagship event of ICorPurS®, the International Corporate Purpose Society. It brings together scholars, doctoral researchers, and practitioners to present and discuss research on corporate purpose: how it is defined and measured, how it shapes strategy, governance, leadership, and culture, and how it contributes to organizations that create value for society.
The 2027 edition is a one-day hybrid conference held on Friday, October 8, 2027, at the Oriente Green Campus of Universidade Europeia in Lisbon, Portugal. Participants can present and attend in person or online.
CPIC 2027 invites extended abstracts of conceptual, empirical, and methodological research on corporate purpose, from across disciplines, as well as work that connects research with organizational practice. The Microsoft CMT service was used for managing the peer-reviewing process for this conference. This service was provided for free by Microsoft and they bore all expenses, including costs for Azure cloud services as well as for software development and support.
CPIC 2027 is open to academics, doctoral and early-career researchers, and practitioners. Membership of ICorPurS® is not required to submit or to attend.
All extended abstracts and presentations must be in English.
Submissions must be original work by the authors. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and the submission of previously published work, is not accepted, and submissions may be checked for similarity. Work under review elsewhere may be submitted, provided it has not yet been published. Any use of generative AI tools in preparing the work must be disclosed in the extended abstract, and authors remain fully responsible for its content.
Every submission receives a double-blind peer review by members of the Scientific Committee and invited reviewers. Decisions are communicated to the corresponding author through Microsoft CMT by Monday, June 14, 2027. Reviewers declare any conflict of interest and do not review work by colleagues from their own institution or by recent co-authors.
Each accepted extended abstract must have at least one registered author who presents the work at the conference, in person in Lisbon or online. The presenting author must register by Wednesday, September 15, 2027, for the work to be included in the final program. Registration fees are listed in Attend CPIC 2027. Registration details will be sent to authors with the notification of acceptance.
Accepted extended abstracts are published in the ICorPurS® book of abstracts, which carries an ISSN.
After the conference, authors of accepted extended abstracts may upload an optional full paper to their CMT submission by Friday, October 29, 2027. Uploading a full paper is not required for presentation at the conference.
